About Team DB RAcing…

Hi, I’m Jack — and first off, thanks for taking the time to check out my website.

I’ve been around Land Rovers my entire life. In fact, the very first vehicle I ever drove was a Discovery 1 300TDI. From there, I moved on to Discovery 2s, and eventually a Defender. After owning the Defender for a couple of years, I decided to take things to the next level and began collecting parts to turn it into an Ultra4 race truck. It started with coilovers and wheels, and quickly snowballed from there — you can see the full build spec here.

One night, while browsing Facebook Marketplace, I came across a tubular frame for sale. By the following weekend, I’d picked it up — and that’s where the real journey began. Over the next year and a half, with the help of Wrecker Fabrication, I built the truck from the ground up. It was a huge learning curve, both for me and the car, but incredibly rewarding.

We went on to achieve some great results, including taking 1st place at King of Britain — a milestone moment for the team. Along the way, we’ve also met some amazing people who’ve become a big part of this journey.

After around two and a half years of racing, and continually upgrading the truck, we decided it was time to push things further — more power, more speed. The limitation was the original frame, so we made the big decision to strip the truck down completely and start fresh.

We found a Dominator chassis that had been sitting unused in a container for three years — and knew it was the right move. We sold the old frame, carried over key components like the axles, and began the next chapter of the build.

We’ve now had the new chassis for about eight months. Progress has had its challenges — mainly around sourcing parts — but we’re moving forward steadily. Be sure to keep an eye on our socials for the latest updates as the new truck comes together.

A bit of backstory on the team name and race number:

The team is named in honour of my grandad, Derek Bradshaw. He played a huge role in my life — raising me, guiding me, and introducing me to everything I know about Land Rovers. Without him, none of this would exist.

Our race number, 212, comes from the house he built — the same place I grew up with him and my nan. It’s a number that means a lot to me and keeps that connection close, both on and off the track.
